Namibia’s contrasting scenery, beauty and animal life offer plenty of great photo opportunities. Our safari begins in Windhoek, Namibia’s capital. Our first major attraction is Fish River Canyon, second only to the Grand Canyon in size is one of Africa’s most sensational natural features.

Next we’ll really start to get a feel for the Namib Desert as we cross this vast region and experience the geography of dry mountain passes. Once reaching Sossusvlei we’ll stop and explore the area and the dunes, some of them the highest in the world.

We continue our journey to the oasis town of Swakopmund, where you can simply relax or take part in the various adrenaline triggering activities on offer. Included here is an interesting township tour giving an insight to the Namibian way of life. From here we’ll travel onto the Cape Cross Seal Colony. It’s a memorable visit here viewing thousands of these mammals as well as their pungent odor!

From the Skeleton Coast we’ll travel inland to the stunning Spitzkoppe rock formations where we’ll experience a bush camp. We’ll also visit the ancient Bushmen rock engravings at Twelfelfontein and visit a cheetah sanctuary where you can scratch behind the ears of these beautiful cats before watching them chase their evening meal. Close to here is also the home of the Himba people, we’ll have a fascinating cultural experience visiting this ancient tribe.

Etosha National Park is recognised as one of Africa’s greatest wildlife viewing areas and is a must see. Our days are spent game viewing, bird watching and taking in the wonderful scenery of this barren region. Our evenings are spent relaxing around the campfire and spotting game at the floodlit waterholes on the edge of camp. We’ll also take a guided game walk at Waterberg Plateau

Botswana has remained almost completely unspoiled and it’s an ideal destination for nature lovers. We’ll visit the Okavango Delta, this is one of the world’s largest inland waterways and its tranquility and quietness have a calming effect on those who visit it. We’ll spend time with guides poling us around in Mokoros (dug out canoes) and exploring the extensive waterways and wildlife. An optional flight over the Delta allows you remarkable views of this unspoiled wilderness.

Chobe National Park is one of the worlds’ largest wilderness areas covering approximately 11,000sqm. This park has the highest elephant concentration in Africa – over 120,000. We camp at a lodge in Chobe. From here we organise a game drive in Chobe National Park and a cruise on the relaxing waters of the Chobe River. During the heat of the day you can relax by the pool or find a shady spot along the river bank.

Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls is, by some measures, the largest waterfall in the world. For some, Mosi oa Tunya – The Smoke That Thunders, is the highlight of their trip. The Zambezi plunges 1,000 meters over the gorge, creating a mist cloud that rises metres into the air and the thundering force can be heard from Victoria Falls town. Our last days of the safari are spent exploring Victoria Falls and taking part in the many optional adventure activities. Included in the tour is a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and a night drive followed by a bush dinner.
